ADMISSIBILITY OF PREVIOUS CONVICTIONS TO SHOW PROPENSITY

A judge had been correct to admit evidence of a defendant’s previous convictions during a robbery trial, in which the defendant claimed mistaken identity and the only identification evidence was that of a single witness, where the convictions showed a willingness and propensity to acquire other peoples’ property dishonestly and to use significant violence.
