ADJOURNMENT FOR HEARING OF FURTHER EVIDENCE AFTER CLOSE OF PROSECUTION CASE

Magistrates were right to adjourn a drink-driving case for the purpose of hearing further evidence from an assistant to a forensic scientist involved in the analysis of a blood sample. The magistrates were entitled to conclude that there was evidence upon which they could have found that the blood analysed was the defendant’s.
