ACTING AS A COURIER

In an appeal against a sentence of six-and-a-half years’ imprisonment for one offence of being knowingly concerned with the fraudulent evasion of the prohibition on the importation of cocaine, whilst the 16-year-old appellant’s sentence would not have been regarded as manifestly excessive for an adult, in view of the disparity in sentence of her older co-accused, the sentence was quashed and substituted with a term of five-and-a-half years’ imprisonment.
